“Ignite Me” – Tahereh Mafi

Rating: 4.5/5 stars
The third installment to this series blew me away. The writing was phenomenal and the action scenes were well developed. It was a great book to follow up the second book because in my review for the last book, I did stress that I didn’t fall in love with the plot like I did with the first book and this book as well. I loved how Juliette really stood up for herself and followed through with what she wanted to accomplish in the long term.
Two of my favorites scenes in this book was when Warner and Adam finally found out that they were brothers and the actions that followed were really heartwarming and touching. It melted me. The other scene was when the war was over and Juliette was going to walk into the crowd of soldiers and civilians who were going to join her in the fight to take the Reestablishment and rebuild the world that they all once knew.
The only reason that this book did not get a 5 star rating from me was because of the love triangle. Don’t get me wrong, I love Warner and I love Adam but Juliette needs to stop going around and breaking people’s hearts. Poor Adam had his heart broken three times from the same girl and then his brother followed up and just stole her right from his grasp. But they are both good looking so it doesn’t really matter anymore 🙂
I would definitely recommend this book to anymore who wants to read a series that is really touching and heart warming. 🙂 Great job Tahereh! I love your books and plan to read more in the future!!
Synopsis: *provided by Goodreads*
“The heart-stopping conclusion to the New York Times bestselling Shatter Me series, which Ransom Riggs, bestselling author of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, called “a thrilling, high-stakes saga of self-discovery and forbidden love.”
With Omega Point destroyed, Juliette doesn’t know if the rebels, her friends, or even Adam are alive. But that won’t keep her from trying to take down The Reestablishment once and for all. Now she must rely on Warner, the handsome commander of Sector 45. The one person she never thought she could trust. The same person who saved her life. He promises to help Juliette master her powers and save their dying world . . . but that’s not all he wants with her.
The Shatter Me series is perfect for fans who crave action-packed young adult novels with tantalizing romance like Divergent by Veronica Roth, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, and Legend by Marie Lu. Tahereh Mafi has created a captivating and original story that combines the best of dystopian and paranormal, and was praised by Publishers Weekly as “a gripping read from an author who’s not afraid to take risks.” Now this final book brings the series to a shocking and satisfying end.”
